What has been on your mind lately?
King Krule's new album The Ooz, Dopey Podcast and the corruption in the American judicial system.
How old were you when you got your first tattoo and why did you get it?
I got my first tattoo when I was 14. My friend and I gave them to each other in her bedroom. Crosses on our hips so that we could hide them from our parents. For the first several years I'd do stick and pokes I would do them on my feet so that they were always hidden. My parents are very strict and conservative but I mean what parents want their 14 years old giving themselves tattoos in their bedroom with sewing needles? Eventually they just started slowly moving up my body and now I'm tattooed on my head. Oops.
What is the one thing you could not live without?
I couldn't live without sobriety. I must keep a high level of consciousness at all times otherwise I am useless. Drug's and alcohol don't give life enough credit. Also, can't live without King Krule or my penpals and maybe my asthma inhalers.
When and where are you happiest?
I'm the happiest when I'm traveling alone and particularly in New York. I am at bliss when I am wandering a foreign city by myself. Also my favourite bodega with a secret voodoo room in the back. You can buy candles and potions and incense and all the packing is the coolest thing I've ever seen (I go to school for Graphic Design so I'm a sucker for good packaging). It's like stepping into another world.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
To live life on life's terms. I find it to be very humbling.
