Asphyxiation is 6-look womenswear graduate collection inspired by Guy Bourdin, Daido Moriyama, Hans Furer and Kazumi Kurigami and focused on ‘wet look texture’. The pieces are made by recent University of Brighton alum Tara Hakin - who also styled the below editorial alongside photography curator and stylist An Nguyen, and shot by photographer and London-based Filipino artist Ezikiel. Hakin’s looks began with creating a headpiece body mould on a mannequin - in reference to Moriyama’s work. She then draped differing fabrics on the mannequin with double sided tape to create all of the garments, such as the ‘Wet Look Asymmetric Corset’. The full collection also includes a hand printed dress, a red moulded jacket with a plastic body, and red taffeta trousers.
