Baby Car Seats
In the United Kingdom children under a certain age are required to sit in car seats. As children age out of this restriction, the disposal of car seats becomes an issue, as they are often made of hard plastics and polyester materials. Additionally, charities are reluctant to take used car seats because of concerns surrounding hygiene. Yue Yang decided to collect used car seats around London and refurbish them into oversized T-shirts, creating the premise behind the project. The transformation of a material so reminiscent of childhood reinvents the memories associated with childhood and the duality of life.
