Investigating the concept of distorted memories and reality, as well as the idea of nostalgia, After Memory is a photographic exploration based on the recollection of distant memories, and a quest to unravel the uncertainty that is Nostalgia. Each individual has their own perceptions and ideas of the world as a whole that is derived from their personal experiences, such as memories. These memories can be triggered by a specific place within the world. For me the place that triggers the most emotions is the island of Iceland.

The notion of Nostalgia within the photographic series acts as rebellion against time and progress, almost like an intimate obsession with memory and history; they are the preservation of an existing past, one that may be in danger of being forgotten. The images are shot with aerochromatic infrared film; the outcome a hazy purple that portrays the desire to remember and assemble distorted memories of the past.
