Givenchy SS17

Givenchy SS17

Riccardo Tisci's collections have been very dark for many seasons. Even though the catwalk was filled with warrior-like models, this spring collection was suddenly more spiritual and happy. There was no doubt it was entirely true to Tisci's key vision and aesthetic, but felt less aggressive than ever. His identifiable graphic prints and details emphasizing masculinity were all present. This time it was achieved by multiple layered zippered pockets on shoulders and chests, while the graphics turned into camouflaged dollar prints. The slicked hair, light weight nylons, embroidered mirrors and literal sunshine all made Givenchy's usual beefed-up macho man look a little nicer.
