In your art you place quotes like: “All I see is part of me”, do you believe in quantum physics?

The quotes that I place have more of a spiritual or philosophical meaning. “All I see is part of me” means that everything around me is part of the universe and dimension where I live in; I'm part of the universe itself, I don't exist separately to it, there's a piece of me in everything and everyone. When I think about this, I feel extremely connected to universe and nature.

Angels, holy lights, mosques and Hindu monks appear in your collages, what’s your relation to spirituality?

I deeply feel that there's a reason why I'm alive, that the dimension I'm living in isn't the only one to exist. In the last years of my life these feelings have become very recurring. I've started getting interested in spirituality and meditating more than a year ago and it literally changed me and my view of life. I like to represent my interests in my artworks, so that's why I include middle eastern or Asian culture elements: I love their art, architecture, clothes and places. Arabic calligraphy is very recurrent in my works because it's my favorite calligraphic style.

What is the power of collages?

With my personal collage-style I want to convey the feeling of dreaming to the person who's watching my works, or the feeling you have when you randomly remember a dream that you had long time ago.

Scrolling down your feed, one can see a development from more darker creations with chains and eerie atmosphere, to more colorful content with lambs and hearts. Can you explain your artistic journey behind?

I started gr0wlnet just as an aesthetic thing, I initially didn't want my works to have an actual meaning. I was totally in love with an art style strictly connected to Drain Gang and Sad Boys, so I tried making my own one. Then my way to express myself automatically evolved as I was; I wanted to spread more positive and peaceful emotions.

What does your username: gr0wlnet mean?

When I created my account, I was into extreme metal and decided to name it “growl” because I thought it was a sick vocal style and added “net” because it describes the internet style that characterizes my artworks.

What message you want to share?

Never let yourself down, you are a precious being. Try to not be overwhelmed by thoughts that pop in your head, they are mostly influenced by other people. You are not your body. You don't even are your thoughts: you are a soul. Seek your true self.
