Kay Hickman
Documentary photographer Kay Hickman was raised in El Barrio in an urban area of Manhattan. Hickman’s photography is focused on “chronicling the culture of the African Diaspora” and works to offer a myriad of narratives and identities often neglected by the media. Her work challenges monolithic representations and will be featured in the inaugural issue of bi-annual journal MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora. The journal features over 100 photographers who are women from the African diaspora and is available for pre-sale. Hickman is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
