NFTs are here to stay. We are seeing an exponential growth of digital commercialisation like it’s never been before, considered at the top of the art market now. There is a worthy conversation to be had on how financial speculation has reached the world of digital art in cryptocurrencies, much like it has historically affected traditional currencies, but the overall facilitation for creators of digital art to profit and live off of their work has been increased by the popularisation of NFTs, and that is something that had been proven quite difficult until now.
Lokaki art is a digital creator that finds his practice in the niche of digital collectibles, and much like we would traditionally find Funko Pops, Lokaki's work has an aesthetic formula that is then repeated and modified to resemble the likeness of a pop culture’s figure. The same profile standing in a pixelated 90's - Game Boy avatar - inspired character, with different backgrounds that surround the composition to create deeper world-building feels.
