Making beauty from the unwanted
London-based filmmaker Connor Carver-Carter and his team’s newborn project features contemporary clothing in a classical setting. Gloria Jane Royer’s recycled collection became the centrepiece of the film which was simultaneously punctuated given the location of the Fulham Town Hall. Having been abandoned for 10 years, the newly imagined Fulham Town Hall is home to ‘Art in the Age of Now’, an exhibition opened in May of 2021, and serves as a recalling of olden rituals in the short film. Lavish pillars to spirited stained glass windows; all are surely part of the gloryful antiquity captured by this time capsule of a fashion film.
