Loneliness, anxiety and social estrangement are only a handful of feelings being experienced on a global scale since the outbreak of Covid-19. But in a world engulfed in wide-spread panic and confusion, the importance of togetherness and inclusivity are more paramount than ever before. And this is exactly what Andrea Paoletti’s Milanese brand, Nuage Couture, graphic designer, @paolodopo and 3D artist @hardmetacore, emulate in their new collaborative release. We see a digital woman with a shocking lilac bob, kneeling, dressed only in a black t-shirt.

On the front of the tee the Nuage Couture logo stands out, encapsulated in a Covid-19 cell, and on the back, we see a graphic reminiscent of a Joy Division album cover, alongside text which reads ‘Covid-19 Will Tear Us Apart’, lyrically twisting one of Joy Division’s most famous song’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.


Extremely poignant in the sense that this is the shared feeling for most people. But additionally, it highlights the importance that we must not allow this virus to in fact, ‘tear us apart’. In this strange time of social distancing and self-isolation, it is more important than ever to remain emotionally connected to others. Nuage Couture is all about people and through this collaborative project these three artists pass on a message of human solidarity and connection. All proceeds from these sold t-shirts will be donated to hospital charities in Milan.
