Sinéad O'Dwyer SS20
In ‘Wear me like water’, photographer and videographer Steph Wilson draws upon the aqueous grace of Sinéad’s universe to create a utopian waterscape populated by O’Dwyer’s four sirens, each attired in the designer’s SS20 collection. Against Tom Furse’s ethereal melodic backdrop, they frolic in a sun-dappled pool, luxuriating in the pleasures that come of flesh and fabric merging like two meeting bodies of water.
The SS20 campaign film accompanied O’Dwyer’s presentation of her new collection at BFC's Discovery Lab during London Fashion Week.
Taking the body of her muse Martina Dolcimascolo as the life-casted template for her fibreglass moulds, O’Dwyer’s SS20 collection embeds fully-fashioned swimsuits into extruded silicone forms. The new collection indulges in shirred silks and satins with a selection of richly hued dresses, lingerie, and printed garments. The SS20 collection marks an expansion of the designer’s practice into ready-to-wear and renews and extends her commitment to pluralising representations of the female form in fashion.
Her preciosities currently available at 1granary Showroom, they straddle the disparate realms of industrial practice and intimacy.
