Oct 5 This World Sucks

Valeria Chrampani (@sushiandbaklavas) embodies the nostalgic Y2K moment in a postmodern 21st century. In her personal project titled “This World Sucks”, she delves into the dissonance between emotion and glamour. Pencil thin brows, red lipstick, assortment of wigs and shimmery blue shadow are captured candidly with alluring direct flash portraits. Whether in front of antique art, a bathroom mirror, or clementine trees, the garbs seize a special sense of wistfulness which embodies the quintessential dread of the noughties; a fuschia lace slip, heels endowed with oversized bows, lilac tights, a von dutch trucker cap, to a full length dress with the loud text reading “The World Sucks”.
