What is your favourite fashion accessory?
My glasses changed my trajectory in life. The moment I put those round CK glasses on, a veil was lifted, and I finally felt that I could truly see for the very first time. Ya boy looks good in them. Also, my trusty Minolta TC-1 can be found strapped around my neck on a day to day basis which I think is kind of a good look not going to lie.
What is your favourite city in the world?
London. No question. It's the city where I was born and the one that has given me so many opportunities. These rent prices tho... that is another story.
What was the most delightful meal you ever had?
I guess it's a meal that I keep on eating periodically but my grandmother's lamb curry and roti. Nothing beats home cooked Indian food, something I was lucky to grow up on.
Instagram or Twitter?
Nowadays I've turned to Instagram almost exclusively. But back in the day when I was in high school, I used to be a twitter pro respected by all of my peers. However, Insta gives me the social media kick I need, and because I have multiple accounts for different aspects of myself, I always feel like I'm able to put content out there without censoring myself. @yusuf_siddiqui and @yusufsface are two different people, TRUSSSS MII.
What is your favourite music genre?
Damn, I don't want to sound like some basic ass person who says that they like all sorts of music, but here we are. My day to day playlist consists of 90's R&B/Indian music/Kpop/classical/acid jazz. Honestly I can't choose, but as long as it's not Country music, I can get down with it.
Which celebrity do you look up to?
M.I.A., a groundbreaker in her industry and someone who isn't afraid to speak her mind. Before castings, I always blast her songs to hype myself because listening to another brown person making it out there in a white-washed industry is good for the soul. I'm still trying to recover from her 2009 Grammy Awards performance where she was like eight months pregnant.
