Contemplating everyday gestures with elegance, merging watercolours and natural textures Ziggy Chens creations danced to the poetic tune of a live saxophone performance.

I personally just wanted to ask how you're feeling post-show.

Now I just want to relax. It's been such a journey, making the collection - the kids have been working really hard... and then it's the start of another collection. The process repeats again.

That leads me to my next question: I read that, in this collection, there was a lot of inspiration taken from, for example, the texture in wood and the way water colours merge in water. Why did those types of themes inspire you now?

I think it's the same.

I don't think it's changed. For example, I like a lot of music, painting, architecture. I think it's more fixed. In fact, I do a lot of research myself. It's not just about making clothes. I put down what I like and then a lot of elements of this season are developed and re-created through watercolours. Maybe I wanted to do this in the last season, but maybe I didn't have a chance then... It's not that I have an inspiration. I see something and I really want to do it. I've never done this before, but maybe I'll arrange it in the first few seasons, and sometimes I think the cloth I make is good. Maybe I'll hide it, because I don't want to use it now. Maybe in two years, when I do that, I'll use it. So I don't know if this is called inspiration.

I don't think it's an inspiration. It's like a flash of inspiration. It stimulates you. It's like I have to arrange those things one by one. Of course, I don't know what I'm going to do in the future. So all these ideas, it's not something that's new to me.

Because I've always been accumulating. For example, the kind of painting I like. The textiles or the textures. I love doing research. So it's always part of me. It's not like I was suddenly inspired by something new and then I started doing some kind of thing. But it just happened that this season we did this approach.
