Large yellow delivery bags were the feature accessories of Aalto’s spring collection, made by Repack they are recyclable and reusable, covered in reworked logos which humorously reference the internet age. The internet as inspiration is a broad, fragmented and overwhelming visual and the clothes followed suit: hyper feminine silhouettes with padded shoulders and hips, followed by classic men’s tailoring then graphic streetwear. There was a lot of ruching in unexpected places. Soft, round shouldered jackets were interrupted by crisp origami folds. A collection for asking questions then, about the future and the sustainability of fashion, but also one for purely celebrating the female form.
