Wassup Earthlings? Our names are Skillette and Pickelle! We are 2 fun loving intergalactic butterflies from Venus! Our flight home has been delayed due to the human pandemic - SO here we are, stuck in the big juicy apple! But we’re not going to let a little delay hold us back from having a POPPIN’ time. Since we are such big foodies, we decided to #SLIVE it up and take a cute little food tour. We come in peace and we come to EAT! Our first NYC destination: the Earth renowned Chinatown and Tiny Italy.
Aliens Vs Food is a fashion editorial story, born from the minds of Abby Lloyd and Nina Carelli; Based in New York City, Abby is an artist, curator and performer, and Nina is a makeup artist. It tells the tale of a pair of foodie aliens stuck in NYC, as the result of our ongoing global pandemic, who take a touristy trip through the town in exploration of what food it has to offer. Aliens Skillette and Pickelle pay a visit to places like La Nonna in Little Italy and the ‘stylish boutiques’ of New York’s renowned Chinatown.
Nina acted as the makeup artist and Abby the editor and collage artist for the shoot, with both lead creatives modelling as the alien characters; contributing photographers Ana Bial, Chris Retsina, and Hadley Vogel helped bring their vision to life.
They say NYC’s Tiny Italy has some of the most authentic Italian cuisine in the whole Universe - SO these green portabellas put this claim to the test. First we hit up the slaying La Nonna ( translation: The Oldest Baby). There we had a yummy cheesy circle, bad tasting red juice.. and one tastyyy waiter!! Pickelle liked his eyes the best, but I thought they were a little chewy. Overall we give this spot 1.5 antennas up!
After we filled our flat tummies, we just had to stop for some cute NYC swag. Who is this green style icon? We just have to meet her!.
Resting our little green feets after hitting up some stylish boutiques in Chinatown. We had a moment with this epic blue-haired monument. We think this chick might’ve been a president? We give this babe 2 antennas up for some hot style!!
Radiating while we look for the most passionate fruit in Chinatown. Pickelle found a big green worm in an apple, YUMMY!!!
Pickelle and I were exhausted from all the walking sooo we took a cab over to the Green Bowling Alley to catch the sunset. There we ate some boiled flesh sticks in bread wallets in front of the bootylicious green goddess - LOVES IT! <3
After the “sun” went down we slipped into some sexy evening attire to dine at Earth’s most happening night spot: Burger King. There we feasted on flesh nuggets, sparkling brown liquid and onion jewelry inside of an abandoned taxi craft. It was an exceptional experience! Yaas King <3
For dessert we picked up this little snoop-dog from an animal cafeteria - but we decided it’s just too cute to eat! Anyway every gal should have a pet!
We 100% crushed it in NYC!! Everyone in Downtown NYC was so nice to us! Probably because we are SO freakin’ cold and sexy! Humans of all different lengths showered us with rockin’ treats and compliments. Our absolute fav snacks were the out-of-this-world canola sticks with white cream stuffing from La Ferrara in Tiny Italy and the half of fish Pickelle found on Mott street
