Oct 30 Bloodsport

Bloodsport is an AV creation born from the minds of Lilian Hardouineau and Lorenzo Targhetta, in collaboration. Both based in Paris, Lilian is a visual artist and filmmaker and Lorenzo is a music artist and mastering and mixing engineer. The film is designed and exhibited as a part of the Parsimony events dedicated to avant-garde music. Inspired by “paradoxical extreme situations,” they give the example of cage-diving to describe the origins of Bloodsport. The trepidatious short film tests the viewer’s senses as chaos erupts behind the screen. A mutating entity eradicates any barrier of safety that may exist, as violent collisions of digital and anatomical patterns push to the point of altering “the fragile pulpit of the medium”. In exploration of the medium itself as an anatomical organism, Bloodsportdrives its provocative pyrotechnic effects to turmoil as it investigates the notion of “digital injuries”.

The project explores the nature of the medium as an anatomical organism in its own right. Also reminiscent of certain entertainment products, by pushing its pyrotechnic eye-catching effects to chaos, it questions the notion of digital injuries.
