Where did you get your handle and business name, Grey93?
Grey comes from the interstitial and overlapping of genre/formats that we appropriate, modify, and create to disseminate on our platforms. It is the ‘grey area’ so to speak. 93 (1993) is the year some of us were born and the era that has had significant influence on our aesthetics (early digital media, rave culture, etc).

What exactly is an ultra modern creative content platform such as Grey93? Can you explain specifically how you form narratives and create identities via video and photo imagery?
We are a group of creatives that are interested in exploring and contributing to media, fashion, art and design in new ways. We want to combine elements from the past, present and theoretical futuristic utopias/dystopias to create a hyper modern aesthetic that is loaded with references and keeps our audiences galvanized.

We are interested in learning and educating through our website www.grey93.com and @grey93. We want to connect with new creatives and ultimately showcase and build a strong community in Toronto and the rest of the world through our online platform and live events.

Who are your clients and what have you done for them? Has Instagram brought them to you?
Our clients have ranged from Vice to Converse to fashion and retail brands such as YEEZY. From fashion bloggers and artist management companies to making fiction films funded by Bell Media and the Canada Council for the Arts. We have made promotional fashion films for upcoming brands such as SP BADU and I.AM.GIA.The Label.

What are your real, true thoughts regarding Instagram and what it is doing to your industry?
Instagram can be an exciting platform to experiment and showcase ideas. It has changed the way we socialize and perceive media. In certain cases it has increased anxiety in certain people, while others have benefited greatly. The industry is experiencing a boom of networking opportunities through platforms such as Instagram, and we want to contribute and link up with like minded creatives to initiate special moments.

Is there anything you will absolutely refuse to post at all costs?
We only post what we feel is in our aesthetic values. We avoid content that disrespects any culture or is not authentic.
