Hardeman AW19

References to late nights and romance, Hardeman’s presentation at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles stimulate the feelings of excitement and mystery associated with love. Sticking to the Dutch designer’s unorthodox style, Hardeman’s speed-dating presentation was dripping in fantasy. With tie-dye splatters and swirly denim that evokes the chaos of any unforgettable love story, Hardeman’s denim dreams became reality. Immersing us in Hardeman’s world, Looking for Love is a mix between candlelit nostalgia and an age yet to come.

Hardeman’s hosts for the evening—Mystic & Maya—exhibited their witty, freewheeling banter. Also taking a romantic turn, LA-based Raven Artson serenaded the audience with his song Cravin’ after blowing bubbles in his knotty denim. Involving further sentimentality, Soji Nails flipped the tiresome into the spectacular with her nail designs. Hardeman repurposed existing materials, like recycled denim, to their purest form: leaving little to be desired. Collapsing the boundaries between love and friendship, Hardeman brings us closer the intimate, and messy spaces that exist in-between. In our pessimistic present, the search for love, according to Hardeman, has just begun. Look for love with Hardeman, and view the presentation at the Ace Hotel below.
