This season’s Maison Margiela focused on the craft of making, and the concept of reduction and artful deconstruction. Indeed very Maison Margiela. Many garments were detailed with white tailor’s chalk, marking out the original patterns as if they were still under construction. He reduced them back to their very essence. The collection followed featuring a skin-tight khaki bodysuit with hip cut outs and short shorts which lengths balanced out the tailored perfection of the trousers. Despite a few playful country garden prints, with beautiful brushstroke finishing, the colors were quite muted and limited on the catwalk.
