Inspired by the late John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 wedding in Gibraltar, the styles ranged from rocker-chic to barn-house beauty with a blend of classic bridal silhouettes and the occasional ripped denim and paint splattered print that adorned a few styles with phrases such as “Betterhalfism” and “They are two of a kind.”

Each look was paired with a Bose portable speaker and an accompanying sound to commemorate the joyous noises of holy matrimony. Various horns, bells, and music followed each model as they walked to strategically placed spotlights in Fabbrica’s open planned warehouse. With careful choreography, the models walked the length of the 2,000 square metre hangar, intersecting at just the right points to be captured by the crowd and replace a previous model’s position.

Aside from the unique catwalk and sound design, the interactive element to this presentation was quite impressive as the choreography and the sounds created an invitation to play causing guests to go as far as “chase” the brides to various locations around the hangar only to get distracted by the sounds of an approaching bride and then leave the one they’re with to follow that new bride. At the end of the two hour presentation, all models and their accompanying sounds, joined together in the courtyard for a family-photo style shoot which created a symphony of revelry in the late summer night. The scene made for a very entertaining and notable experience and was a pleasant respite from the bustle of fashion week.
