Ted Larsen
American Artist Ted Larsen’s works are made from alternative and salvage materials, most usually materials like scrap metal. His body of work, while highly geometrical, still has a proprioceptive tinge to it.
The forms and shapes created in his works mimic natural movement, while simultaneously reducing it to a minimal form. His works, especially with his choice of non-standard materials, aim to reclaim and re-contextualize.
Larsen was born in 1964 and received his Bachelor of Arts from Northern Arizona University. His work has been exhibited at several museums such as New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, and The Albuquerque Museum and he has had residencies with the Edward F. Albee Foundation and Asilah Arts Festival in Morocco. He has an upcoming exhibition at the Visual Arts Center in New Jersey.
