Danshan deconstructed the place where gendered behaviour begins, at school. They presented their latest collection in one of the campus classrooms at Kings College in London. The models displayed the looks among desks, chairs, blackboards and small ‘90s box TVs which played bad quality of “Learning with Danshan”. This collection explores how male body language and masculinity develops and is formed and unexpressed through the education system. Strong elements of the school uniform was present. “This design structure can inhibit individuality but also enable equality, a sublime paradox of both growth and social camouflage” said the designer. The clothes are designed to enable physical concern for one another and aims to celebrate subtle comfort for men in order to interact with each other. The logo placed on many pieces featured the sun, waves and shaking hands and the three key objects were also featured on the TV and means vulnerability and strength. Danshan’s message is that vulnerability is strength. Navy, green, brown and black together with metallic rain jackets, typical white school shirts and ties created an interesting combination of the classical oxford school uniform with an innovative edge.
