Erin M Riley
Artist Erin M. Riley’s works consist of hand-woven tapestries of intimate memories, both personal and collective. She received her MFA from Tyler School of Art and her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her interest in weaving memories lies in its permanence—meaning they can be relived over and over again. Most of her tapestries depict trauma around womanhood with fetishization and sexuality. “Simple” explores the feminine identity through this lens specifically through the Internet (i.e. screenshots of pornography) and the dissociation caused by it. The artist is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
