Ryaw
For their SS20 collection, Ryaw incorporated the medical element into three of their main pieces, all surrounding outerwear. The first of the three is the “R-Brain Jacket”, which features the use of the left-hand compulsorily. Regular use of the left-hand is proven to assist in the development of the right brain; linked to creativity and imagination. The piece titled “Coex Anorak” is an ode to the many pessimistic images surrounding the introduction of 5G technologies, due to abnormalities and health conditions linked to the advancement. Acting as Ryaw’s tool to coexistence with the new technology, this piece is bound to protect whoever possesses it. The final “Surgical Windbreaker” draws inspiration from surgical clothing worn by medical professinals. It tells the slowly paced story of the medical uniform throughout history and into the future of surgical attire.
