@3rd_eyechakra
@3rd_eyechakra is the extremely introvert artist who has since always experimented with artistic mediums. The latest outcome is hybrid manipulated models, which partly are self-portraits. @3rd_eyecakra tells us about the dream collaboration and preferred creatures.
Where are you based?
I’m currently based in North Carolina, Wilmington to be specific.
Tell us about the name 3rd_eyechakra!
I'm a super big fan of Avatar the last air bender and my fav episode was when Ang learned about chakras, So it was only natural to name myself 3rdeyechakra lol.
For how long have you been doing art and which artistic mediums have you been practicing?
I’ve been an artist for practically my entire life, I was never not creating something. I did change mediums and styles quite a few times over the years, more recently it’s been digital photo manipulation.
Your art works portraits some kind of hybrids, mixtures of humans, animals and aliens with some monumental, elemental force within. Are they self-portraits in some way or..?
Yes and no. I’m extremely introverted so I’m in my head most of the time so I’m constantly thinking about different things I see or have seen, and it inspires different looks, and I mean your inspiration derives from different truths about the self so I think in a way they are self-portraits.
What do you prefere in life; humans, animals or aliens?
I love all of them, so all of the above!
I’ve seen you did some collaborations with some clothing brand and artist. What is your dream collaboration?
I’d love a collab with Kelela and the makeup artist Xavier Smith. I feel like that would be absolutely golden.
Naomi Campbell or Waris Dirie?
Naomi.
If you would find a basket like Mose’s at your front door with a new born twin couple, a boy and a girl, what would you do? Names?
Well of course I’d have a panic attack. But low-key would be thinking baby names. Probably would name them Imani and Akasha.
